DATELINE, December 14, 2007, Chicago
Hey, Mrs. IRS, enough with what you are going to be doing next year. We in the tax-exempt community are waiting for our Christmas present from the IRS. You already missed Hanukah. Yes, there are those of us who know that your computer programmers are now busy at work on the 1040, developing alternative scenarios to deal with the alternative minimum tax debacle. That means our beloved Form 990 revisions are complete. Where are they?
Don't tell us we are going to have to wait until Boxing Day, or the last day of Kwanzaa. We assume you won't be sending them with Santa because of weight concerns, but if you do come down the chimney with them we will have cookies and milk waiting for you.
And if you would kindly wrap them with a big red bow they would look nice under the tree.
Happy Holidays from your friends at CharityGovernance
